Knights soccer has been fun this year, going 8-2 in their first ten games this season. The team’s offense has been led by midfielder Gabriel Garcia who has 12 goals this season, Cristian Lopez who has 10 goals, and Thomas Kotas who has 9 goals.

However, they didn’t have a strong start at first, the team ended up losing their first two games against Suffolk who is a top ten team in Region II and Kingsborough. But since then, the team has been on fire, winning their last 8 games and have outscored their opponents by 57 goals.

“We took that first win” Coach Esuebio Marote who has been the coach for the Knights since 2019 said about winning their first game at Southern Maine Community College. “Once you get that one win under your belt, you get a lot more confidence.” Marote added. He also emphasized that training and hard work were part of the reason they were able to turn it around early on into the season. “We train every single day, and we have very minimal days off,” he said. Captain Samuel DeAmorim who was injured for the beginning of the season said “We push each other everyday at practice.” He added “We’re staying focused, we have a lot of talent and experience, so it helps a lot.”

The Knights captain made his return to the lineup on Sept. 3 at Southern Maine Community College after missing the first two games with his injury.
